Battery install on an existing Solar array
Installer Comments
I purchased the battery through my Retail provider, NECTR (owned by Hanwha) and purchased outright as opposed to the interest free, as it cost more. I had existing solar arrays on the house so went for the AC coupled system Q.Home Core A5 with 2 battery modules. Sale process was smooth'ish but Instyle used a local installer and no one turned up on the install day. 4 days later installer arrived but I have a timber framed house so they needed to go and get a sheet of plywood to mount the system, Instyle say this is standard installation method, but someone forgot to tell me or the installer. System operational within 4 hours but it did not monitor solar input as they needed another smart meter, which I am currently waiting to be installed. Support from QHome and Instyle has been okay during this process but more thought and planning would have helped for a better experience.
Battery - Q Cells
Still waiting to get the full experience but it doesn't look like there is an option to charge the Battery from grid during off-peak when you know that the battery will not fully charge during the day (rainy/cloudy). The existing Solar AC input doesn't go to the Inverter but connects up through a smart meter that also has the Grid connection and needs another smart meter installed to allow the whole solution to be monitored as my current Growatt inverters (less than 3 years old) can't be integrated into the QHome system.
